Silent Auction Update and 2023-2024 workshop dates

Hello again Minnesota Orff Community,Thank you to all who made our 2022-2023 chapter workshops a success! We were delighted to see some student teachers among us at Dan Gullick's workshop today. Our fondest hope is to continue to present joyful, relevant, and student-centered professional development for generations of music educators to come. I am writing to share a couple of exciting updates with all of you. First of all, if you missed our garage sale today, the good news is that you can still take part in bidding on a silent auction item. The bidding will close at the start of our spring board meeting at 9:00 am on Saturday, May 13th. Items for sale include a bass xylophone, several glockenspiels, an entire set of Music for Children volumes, a "Singing Bird" songbook that was owned by Arvida Steen, and so much more! Our annual garage sale has a two-fold purpose: to help provide those who are starting their careers with access to quality materials, and to help retiring teachers find a new home for their books, instruments, and other educational materials to help nurture the next generation of teachers. Proceeds from the sale and auction will support our chapter's future programming and we also hope to donate a portion of the sales to a scholarship fund in honor of Arvida Steen. Here is a link to the silent auction bidding site: I am also excited to share our clinicians and workshop dates for the 2023-2024 academic year: Ben Torres, September 9th 2023 Vivian Caputo, October 7th 2023 Matthew Stensrud, April 20th 2024 Stay tuned for workshop descriptions and other updates on this website our Minnesota Orff Facebook group. Best wishes for a happy ending to your school year and a great summer! Warmly, Sarah Hruska Olson, President She/Her Minnesota Orff Chapter
